New Site Changes!

Greetings, One and All!

So, we've gone and made a few small changes to the website in order to trim it down and simplify it, and hopefully make things a bit easier to use:

The Live Chat and Image Gallery features have been removed as they weren't really being used, and therefore are not required. Users may continue to post images in the "Member Photos" section of the Forum under "Free Discussion".

The Calendar at a Glance and Countdown Timer have now been moved to the top of the right-hand side for quick access.

Subsequently, the Online Members section has been moved to the bottom of the right-hand side, since it is not necessarily critical information.

Various changes have been made to the Forum. For more information, please check the "Announcements" section of the Forum under "Administration".

The "Link To Us" button has been removed. (Plain text links do the job well enough as it is.)

If you have any comments, suggestions or complaints about these changes, feel free to leave a comment on this news post and we'll review them. (Because we're not Facebook and we won't do things like put a News Feed inside your News Feed, Dawg.)

Sakura-Con 2011: Cosplay Victoria Panel Line-Up!

Greetings, One and All!

Sakura-Con 2011 is less than two weeks away, and this year, we'll be contributing some panels of our own! Here they are in running order:

What: How To Run A Panel
Where: Panels 4 (607)
When: Friday, April 22nd @ 3:45PM - 5:00PM
More Info:
"Now, if you're reading this, that means that the title has caught your attention. That's the first step in running a successful panel. The second step is creating a description that's concise, engaging and to the point, such as this one. Come and join us as members of Cosplay Victoria's panelist team teach you the basics of how to create, submit and run a panel of your very own and hopefully, get it approved at the convention of your choice!"

What: Vocaloid 101
Where: Panels 7 (3AB)
When: Friday, April 22nd @ 6:45PM - 8:45PM
More info:
"Vocaloid 101 will be an introduction to the world of Vocaloid, and we will present an in-depth look at the culture that surrounds the program, and the characters that make up Vocaloid's famed vocal cast. Vocaloid 101 will also feature a demonstration of how to create a basic Vocaloid track in the Vocaloid 2 editor from start to finish. The demonstration will start off with laying out the lyrics for the conventional "Do-Re-Mi" scale, and will include information on how to edit and define parameters, add multiple singers, and synchronize with a VST host program (Acid Pro 7 in my case) in order to compile with background music and export as a complete track. It will be kept as much in Layman's terms as possible."

What: AlbinoBlackSheep - When Flash Ruled The Internet
Where: Panels 7 (3AB)
When: Saturday, April 23rd @ 12:15AM - 1:15AM
More Info:
"Remember the Internet back in the days before YouTube? No? Well unfortunately, you won't be able to attend this panel anyway, as it is 18+. For those of you who do, however, feel free to come in and hang out with us as we explore some of the most memorable Flash videos from the past, present, and possibly the future featured on AlbinoBlackSheep.com, one of the many great Flash video sites of its time!"

Hope to see you all there!

Take It Easy~
